Steven Spielberg doesn’t plan on recasting Indiana Jones

Well it has been quite a big rumor for a few years now and well it seems we may have some more firm ground on what is happening. It has all been but confirmed that we will be getting another Indiana Jones and it seems very much like Steven Spielberg will be back to direct.

Not too long ago Indiana Jones producer Frank Marshall suggested that the only person they’re looking at for a potential new Indiana Jones movie is Harrison Ford himself, not much of a chance of any recasting just yet. Now director Steven Spielberg has took it one step further saying the following in a recent interview with Screen Daily

“I don’t think anyone could replace Harrison as Indy, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. “It’s certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman. There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

This all but confirms that if we do get a new Indy film, which we will be getting that it will be Harrison returning as Indy, which honestly I am 50/50 on it. I love 2 of the Indiana Jones film, I’m not too keen on Temple of Doom but I am not a fan at all of Crystal Skull, while Harrison may not have been the biggest problem with the film he was slightly, Indy is not some 60 year old man swinging and fighting, Indy is in the 30s/40s fighting Nazis, but I will reserve judgement.

It seems like Harrison Ford is making his way around some of his most famous characters and giving them a honorable finish. Han Solo who may or may not get killed in The Force Awakens but he has returned, returning to Indiana Jones and Rick Deckard in Blade Runner. I mean come on Crystal Skull is not a honorable finish for Indiana Jones, tell me what you all think of this news, Tweet me, go to my Facebook or comment below.
