If you have seen the newest Star Wars trailer (which I don’t know how you couldn’t have), then you will have noticed that there is a lack of the protagonist of the original trilogy. There was no Luke Skywalker, now it can be assumed that it is Luke Skywalker who has his hand on R2D2 but even if that is Luke then we still don’t see his face.
JJ Abrams has came out and said that it is no mistake or accident that we have seen no Luke. The quote he said was “These are good questions to be asking. I can’t wait for you to find out the answer… It’s no accident.” JJ Abrams likes his secret box. I personally don’t want to see any footage or images of Luke, I want that surprise of when the film comes on and suddenly Luke Skywalker comes on screen.
I get the feeling that Luke Skywalker will not be in the film at all until the second half or maybe even the third act, but when he comes on screen everyone will lose their shit. It would have been the same if we hadn’t seen Leia or Han Solo. But when we see the hero of the original trilogy comes on screen, it will be very emotional.
